ICEX Greece – Green Hydrogen

ICEX, together with the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Athens organizes the session by Videoconference: “Vision 2025 HELPE Greece: Decarbonization through C02 capture, Green Hydrogen, Pyrolysis of plastics…”

The two panelists will be the heads of the energy transition plans of HELPE (Hellenic Petroleum), the Greek hydrocarbon company:

• D. Achilles K. Kyrtsis – Head Group Strategic Planning & Intelligence
• Dr. Spyros J. Kiartzis – Manager New Technologies & Alternative Energy Sources

They will present the 2025 strategy of the group whose objectives are:

• Decarbonization of refining activity: 50% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030, mainly through CO2 capture and green hydrogen. Also exploring the use of plastics by pyrolysis.
• Investment in renewable energies: 600MW of installed capacity by 2026 and more than 2GW in 2030, including the development of large Offshore parks among other projects.

Subsequently, in a second session, on March 15 at 10:00 a.m., presentations by previously selected Spanish companies with capabilities and experience in these technologies will be scheduled.
